VertiGarden IrrigationWhen growing and establishing plants in the VertiGarden module, laid flat in the horizontal position, the plants are easily watered over-head with a watering can. Once the VertiGarden is hung in the Vertical Position, you can then make use of the internal irrigation system included with each module, as explained in more detail below.
The modular system we use has an irrigation line which is bedded in to the compost when you put your VertiGarden together. This irrigation "string" is a 4.6 pipe with 8 drippers that supply water directly to the roots. Modules can be linked together so the water flows from one module to another.
There needs to be a water supply to this internal system. The water tank will feed up to 2 modules, but for larger displays, we use an irrigation kit to connect a pressure regulated (to 1.5 bar) water supply directly to the internal irrigation string. This kit supplies the pressure regulator and fittings required to convert from a normal Tap or Hose to the small bore pipe used in the irrigation.

These kits can also be set up with a timer so it will water automatically from an outside tap. For timers and other irrigation products, visit Blue Skies Water Systems
